Marjan Grdadolnik (*1967)

Marjan GrdadolnikMarjan Grdadolnik graduated from clarinet on Ljubljana Academy of Music. He teaches clarinet at  primary music school at Logatec, where he is also a conductor of a school symphony orchestra. For many years, Grdadolnik led Adoramus Mixed Choir, with which he participated in many countries as well as on international contests. In 2000, he and his choir achieved the absolute first place at a contest in Prague, Czech Republic. He was also proclaimed  the best choirmaster of the contest.
Since 1999, Grdadolnik has been also a conductor of Logatec Wind Orchestra, which regularly takes part at competitions in the highest, concert performance level. With this orchestra he is constantly achieving excellent results; in last years, he and the orchestra won four golden medals, three of them with commendation.

Grdadolnik is also a member of the Clarinet Orchestra of Slovenia and an organist at the home parish of Logatec.

He often conducted the symphonic and the wind orchestra at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana.

In August 2008 he conducted the National Radio Symphonic Orchestra of Romania in Bucharesta.  He conducted Beethoven’s 7th symphony. His and the orchestra’s interpretation of Beethoven’s work received compliments of audience and excellent reviews of professional critics.

He graduated from conducting with honors at Ljubljana Academy of Music in January 2009 in the class of prof. Milivoj Šurbek.
In school year 2008/2009 he received the Prešeren award for students for extraordinary achievement in the field of conducting.
